MOBY GRAPE - 20 Granite Creek 1971

Moby Grape were one of the Acid Rock bands from the 60s San Francisco scene. Skip Spence originally had been the drummer on the first Jefferson Airplane record. But his preferred instrument was always the guitar, and he formed the Grape with Jerry Miller (guitar), Peter Lewis (guitar), Bob Mosley (bass) and Don Stevenson (drums).In 1970 Jerry Miller, Peter Lewis and Don Stephenson reunited with Skip Spence (who since their last album together had spent time in prison and hospital, and had recorded a solo album), and Bob Mosley (who had left to join the marines but was discharged after nine months after being diagnosed a schizophrenic). They released this fantastic album in 1971, perhaps the best since their debut.
